stand quietly to be mounted from a block. Hold the noseband of the horse until the judge is happy to go. The judge will ride the horses in turn, starting with the first placed horse. When the judge returns, hold the horse for them to dismount and then return to your place in the line.

If you are required to do a show the steward will instruct you when it is your turn. You may be required to stand in front of the judge so the judge can assess conformation and type. When instructed by the judge, start your show. Keep the show short, show a few strides of walk, some trot with a few lengthened strides, and canter on both reins, with a few lengthened strides of canter. Halt at the end of the show and salute to the judge. Use the space available to keep your horse balanced and free moving. It should be calm, obedient and flowing, but should still have the carriage and presence of an Arabian horse. Once you have completed your show, return to your place in the line.

Once all the horses have done either a show or been ridden by the judge then they have the saddles removed and are shown inhand in front of the judge to assess type and conformation. A groom is allowed into the ring to help with this process. The horse is presented in front of the judge at the halt, when asked walk away from the judge, turn around to the right and trot back straight towards the judge. The judge will move, keep trotting so the horse can be viewed from behind and return to the line. On completion of the inhand show section the horses are tacked up and remounted. The horses will then be instructed by the steward to walk around the arena on the right rein.
