Northern Group Spring Show
The day started out well, the sun was shining and the weather was warm. We arrived in plenty of time to allow Sarah to warm up both AKLAH KESTREL and TRUE ADDICTION for the ridden classes.
AKLAH KESTREL was on his ridden showing debut, and was entered for the Pre-Novice class, a new addition to the schedule this year. Entries were good for this class and AKLAH KESTREL settled very well taking it all in his stride even though a couple of other young horses struggled to settle. Sarah did a short show with him and came away with a much deserved 2nd place.
TRUE ADDICTION was next up in the open ridden class. He had worked in well in the morning and had improved his way of going from his last outing with a much more relaxed open stride. Entries were low for this class but he still managed to produce a performance to clinch the first place rosette, a qualification for the BAC and a place in the championship.
After some more work and a practice to do a show he entered the ring for the championship. All the horses were settled and performed well, but the Judge Mr David Frogatt picked TRUE ADDICTION as his champion, his prize a lovely sash and a glass trophy. The lessons we learned from the last outing were put into practice at this outing with the result of another successful show.
Our next show outing will be Newark and Nott’s show on the 8th May.
