NWGAHS Show Aintree Equestrian Centre
What a change in the weather, from competing in near winter conditions at the Staff spring show to competing in glorious sunshine here at the North West Group Show at Aintree. The facilities here are excellent and the air conditioning in the indoor arena was much appreciated on the day, keeping the horses and riders cool.
TRUE ADDICTION was being ridden in by Sarah Monkman in the HOYS gelding class. He had worked in lovely the night before and came out on the day ready to please, which is always a blessing. There were a few nerves from Sarah as this was her first ever HOYs qualifier and the strongest class, of quality horses, she had ever competed in. Once in the ring she focused on the job in hand and both of them performed well.
Space was at a premium during the ride round and at times there was a bit of a melee in the ring due to the number of horses. Both Sarah and TRUE ADDICTION dealt with the challenges admirably and together gave a very settled performance and were pulled in fourth place. The Judge must have been as equally impressed by his type quality and performance as we had been, watching from the stands, because on the final placing she moved him up to third. An excellent result for both Sarah and TRUE ADDICTION on thier first competitive ride against the big boys, and they are improving all the time.
This little horse has a lot more yet to offer. He will next be contending the open class at the Northern Group Show at Wetherby on 20th June. Watch out for him!

Well done, bet you are really pleased. Will you be fighting over the ride soon!
Good to hear True Addiction is doing so well in open classes, I think he is gorgeous!
