True Addiction working in

Cheshire County show is held in the middle of June. The showground setting is excellent. It is a very good standard county show with a Horse of the Year Qualifier attached to it. The classes are split into mares, geldings and stallions, but there are no novice classes, only open.

The ring is large, flat and on grass. The surrounding area is busy horse rings. But there is more to the show than just horses and in the background there are many distractions, from pony club gymkhana to motor bike displays and clay pigeon shooting. For this reason we always try to attend this show as part of the education of the horses. On this occasion we had entered Aja Estareyna, a novice mare. Unfortunately she could not attend due to circumstances beyond my control. I am still recovering from a correction to my broken leg and not yet back in the saddle so this mare could not be ridden.

We also entered the show with our gelding True Addiction, who is in his first season of open classes. This year is an educational year for Sarah who is learning the ropes in the ridden showing world. Sarah has been riding and schooling True Addiction at home and has attended a few open shows this season. Each time gaining more experience into the world of the professionals.
