The journey to the North Western Group ‘C’ show was uneventful, just how we like it, though it was very blustery. We arrived in good time to the show ground to allow us to bed down the stables and allow the horses time to adjust to their new surroundings, before exercising them and putting them to bed for the evening. Ridden Line Up
We had the privilege and honour of hosting an Intermediate Judges Course for The Arab Horse Society, on the weekend of the 8th May 2011, at our training centre in North Yorkshire. The day started overcast and raining but as the day progressed, the rain stopped, the clouds cleared, the sun came out and by the end of the day it was a glorious spring day.
The candidates, of whom there were twelve for the in hand and one for the ridden, were jointly assessed by

Newark and Notts Show is one of the few shows during the season where we don’t stable overnight. Thankfully we had no challenges on our travels, unlike North Staffs Spring Show where we had a blow out on one of the back tyres. We arrived in good time to a cool overcast show ground. BAC Ridden Champion
Preparations are now in full swing for the coming season. We have already had to make decisions of which horses will be going to the British Nationals before the season has even swung into action and the opportunity to asses who will make the grade, especially the youngsters.
As part of our preparations for the Horse of the Year Show Qualifiers we will be going to Newark and Nott’s this weekend with Al Shahrani (Arnie), owned and bred by Teresa and Alan Sheward, with the express purpose of putting on that final polish before the real competition begins.
