Even though the Northern Group Show is a fairly local show to us, just over an hour’s drive, we elected to stable overnight. This we believe gives the horses the opportunity to get used to their new environment and results in a more relaxed performance on the day.

The journey to the North Western Group ‘C’ show was uneventful, just how we like it, though it was very blustery. We arrived in good time to the show ground to allow us to bed down the stables and allow the horses time to adjust to their new surroundings, before exercising them and putting them to bed for the evening. Al Shahrani
Newark and Notts Show is one of the few shows during the season where we don’t stable overnight. Thankfully we had no challenges on our travels, unlike North Staffs Spring Show where we had a blow out on one of the back tyres. We arrived in good time to a cool overcast show ground. BAC Ridden Champion
Preparations are now in full swing for the coming season. We have already had to make decisions of which horses will be going to the British Nationals before the season has even swung into action and the opportunity to asses who will make the grade, especially the youngsters.
As part of our preparations for the Horse of the Year Show Qualifiers we will be going to Newark and Nott’s this weekend with Al Shahrani (Arnie), owned and bred by Teresa and Alan Sheward, with the express purpose of putting on that final polish before the real competition begins. We look forward to seeing you there.
AJA ESTAREYNA 2nd Novice Mares
The North Staffs spring show proved to be an eventful affair, starting with the blow out on one of the back tyres of the wagon, just prior to arriving at Rodbaston College. Fortunately this did not affect the driveability of the wagon and we were able to get to the venue unaffected, allowing us to unload the horses, who were totally unaware that anything out of (more…)
